Step-by-Step Process
Prepare Your Workspace
Set up a clean, well-ventilated area. Cover surfaces with plastic or silicone mats to protect them from resin spills. Gather all your materials and wear protective gear.
Mix the Resin
Follow the manufacturer's instructions to mix resin and hardener in the correct ratio. Stir slowly and thoroughly for several minutes to avoid creating bubbles.
Add Color & Inclusions
Divide the resin into portions if using multiple colors. Add resin dyes, pigments, or inclusions like dried flowers, glitter, or metallic flakes to create your design.
Pour into Mold
Carefully pour the prepared resin into your silicone watch face mold. Use a toothpick or small tool to arrange inclusions if needed. Tap the mold gently to release air bubbles.
Cure the Resin
Cover the mold to protect it from dust and let it cure according to the resin instructions. This typically takes 24-72 hours depending on the resin type and thickness.
Demold & Finish
Once fully cured, gently remove the resin watch face from the mold. Sand any rough edges and polish if necessary for a crystal-clear finish.
Assemble the Watch
Insert the watch mechanism into the case, place the resin face on top, and secure with the case back. Attach the watch hands following the mechanism instructions.
Add the Strap
Attach your chosen watch strap to the case lugs. Leather, metal, or silicone straps all work well depending on your design aesthetic.
